Summer 2025 Newsletter

Wednesday, July 9, 2025 | Posted in GEHA Connection Dental Network Provider Newsletter

Code of Conduct

As part of our GEHA Compliance Program, all contracted entities that perform administrative or health care services must review the GEHA Code of Ethical Business Conduct. This review is mandatory and must be completed when the partnership with GEHA starts during the initial application process — and annually independently thereafter.

Please visit our website at connectiondental.com and select Resource Center. Under Resource Links, select GEHA Code Of Ethical Business Conduct and read the documents. No other action is needed. If you have any questions regarding this request, contact GEHA Connection Dental Network at 800.505.8880, option 4. We appreciate your participation in the GEHA Connection Dental Network.

Features of the IVR (Interactive Voice Response) system

We have automated features to make verifying your provider information quick and easy. You can access the features below through our IVR system, after following the requested phone prompts:

  • Fee schedule fax back
  • Location effective date
  • Initial application status

The IVR system is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Call 800.505.8880 and follow the provider validation prompt.

Provider Portal changes

At GEHA, we are committed to enhancing our technology to better support you and our members. As part of a significant investment in modernizing our operations in 2025, we understand that you may have experienced longer-than-usual claim processing times, hold times or challenges setting up accounts in the newly updated Provider Portal. We appreciate your patience and feedback during this transition.

To help streamline your experience, we are implementing changes designed to reduce provider hold times and improve claims processing. We encourage you to check our website regularly for the latest updates. Please visit connectiondental.com to learn more. For your convenience, we have provided a set of FAQs to guide you through this transition at connectiondental.com/networkinfo/getdocumentfile/407.

Important update: Provider Portal login changes — effective April 2025

As of April 2025, you are required to update your One Healthcare ID (OHID) login credentials to continue accessing the Provider Portal on our website. This includes key functions such as:

  • Checking member plan information
  • Verifying eligibility and benefits
  • Verifying and reviewing claims details

The login update enhances security by adopting advanced authentication methods, and as part of this change, email will no longer be supported as a secondary authentication method. This change ensures that our sign-in process meets industry standards for safeguarding customer and member data.

Immediate action required

New users: If you have not yet set up your Provider Portal login for 2025, we strongly encourage you to complete this process as soon as possible during account creation or sign-in.

Existing users: Please update your multi-factor authentication (MFA) method, such as phone, authenticator app or passkey to ensure uninterrupted access. You can update your MFA settings by navigating to Manage Profile once logged in.

We value your feedback and appreciate your patience as we work through the technology upgrade. We are committed to providing you the excellent service you have come to expect from GEHA.

Thank you for your continued partnership and for the care you provide to GEHA members every day.

Medicare Advantage enrollment: An expanding opportunity

Since 2010, Medicare Advantage enrollment has more than doubled, and this growth is expected to only continue. Nearly all Medicare Advantage plans offered to beneficiaries now include an option for dental coverage. By partnering with these plans, your practice can benefit from the growing number of patients seeking dental coverage through Medicare Advantage.

Important note: It’s always best practice to contact the payor directly to verify benefits and confirm your participation via your GEHA Connection Dental Network fee schedules before seeing the patient.

To see a current list of the Medicare Advantage plans, please access the Payor List on our Provider Portal.

Access the Payor List in your Provider Portal
To review the latest Payor List, you will need to log in to your Provider Portal and follow the steps below. The list is updated monthly.

If you have not registered on the Provider Portal:

1. Go to connectiondental.com and select Register at the top of the home page. Complete all required fields, including your CDN contact ID number, which is needed to display your information in the Provider Portal. If you need your CDN contact ID, please call 800.505.8880,
option 4.
2. Once registered, you will receive an email asking you to confirm your Connection Dental Network web account. After confirming, you may log in.
3. Once logged in, select Network Information.
4. You will see a drop-down box for Connection Dental Network Payor List. Select this option, and the Payor List will be downloaded.

If you are an existing user on the Provider Portal:

1. Go to connectiondental.com and select Log In. Enter your email address, then your password and security question answer. If you registered, but did not enter your CDN contact ID number, you will need to enter it before the Provider Dashboard will display:
2. Navigate to Manage Account.
3. Select Profile Information.
4. Enter your CDN contact ID (if you need your CDN Contact ID, please call the support number provided below).
5. Select Submit.
6. The dashboard should display. If it does not, select Manage Account again to refresh.
7. Once logged in, select Network Information.
8. You will see a drop-down box for Connection Dental Network Payor List. Select this option, and the Payor List will be downloaded.

You can also call 800.505.8880, option 3, to request a copy of the latest Payor List.

Reminder: Verify network and reimbursement details with each payor

Not all employer groups associated with payors use the Connection Dental Network. Providers
should always verify benefits and eligibility directly with the payor. By contacting the payor, a
provider can identify which network fee schedule is being used for claim reimbursement and
verify participation status with the plan.

For payor contact information, call Provider Relations at 800.505.8880, option 3. The Payor
List is updated monthly and is available through the GEHA Connection Dental Provider Portal.
For step-by-step instructions to download the list, see page 3. Group-contracted providers may
contact their representative to access a copy.
